Peppermint PR’s joint MD Suzy Glaskie has said that her agency has started a volunteering initiative to help community and charity organisations. ‘Project Peppermint’ has already raised funds for The Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention Appeal, while members of the 18-strong agency team have also been helping out at the Morris Feinmann Home in Didsbury.
Glaskie imparted that she and her staff “wanted to put something back into the community as a team” after her business has gone “from strength-to-strength in recent years.”
Project Peppermint aims to achieve this by encouraging staff to dedicate time to deserving local causes over the course of the year.
So far team members have donned pink tutus to help Sainsbury’s Altrincham shoppers pack their bags - raising £2,000 in the process for The Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention Appeal - and read poetry, played board games and helped run an exercise class for elderly residents at the Morris Feinmann care home.
Glaskie noted: “Everyone got a huge amount out of the scheme and we’re now looking forward to planning our next volunteering days.”
