Central Radio, the new Lancashire station due to be launched imminently by UTV, has announced that its purpose-built studio complex will be housed within the headquarters of the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce.

The deal will see the entire team making its home at the Eastway Business Village in Fulwood, with work due to be finished and a subsequent move-in scheduled within the coming weeks.

John Barnett, chairman of Central Radio, enthused over the station’s new home, noting: “It is a real coup for us to have the radio station located in the chamber’s building and, working closely with them, will help us to reach the business community ensuring we have a firm footing in the local community.“

The station also recently made the news with its appointment of Chris Buckley to the position of programme director.
