Adios Granada as ITV drops iconic brand
ITV is to rebrand all its production arms to lose the Granada name.

That means Granada America is now ITV Studios Inc and Granada Germany and Granada Australia will become ITV Studios.

Programmes it produces for other channels will also lose the Granada Productions logo and name.

How-Do is led to believe that these changes are mainly for the international market, to build up the ITV name.

As a result, regional news programme, Granada Reports, will not be affected.

Last year, ITV officially renamed the Granada regional franchise “ITV Broadcasting” through Ofcom.

The Granada name is synonymous with this region, with some referring to the North West as “Granadaland.”

How-Do has been in touch with the ITV press office in London and is awaiting an official comment.
