Radio indie All Out Productions has spoken about its delight at being nominated for a prestigious Sony Award.
The firm, which has collected six of the gongs in its 13-year history (including four golds), has been nominated in the ‘community’ category for its Asian Nation documentary series, produced for the BBC’s Asian Network. All Out produced a six-week long season of work for the broadcaster to coincide with the 60th anniversary of partition in India and the creation of Pakistan. The team received the nomination for their programme 'Asian Nation: My Life, My Roots, My Music.’ The producer of the piece, Gail Champion, commented: “This season was the biggest ever snapshot of life for British Asians - a real community project which included the voices of British Asians from all over the country, and added to the debate on what it means to live between two cultures” “It was a great opportunity for All Out to work with BBC Asian Network on such an important project” The Sony Awards will be announced in London on 12 May. www.allout.co.uk Something to add?
