Helen Boaden will be meeting students at the University of Salford next week as they launch their new BA (Hons) Journalism course.
Boaden Boaden will talking about "how to make friends and influence people at the BBC" to give the students an insight into life in a real news environment. "Having input from people working in the media is an essential part of this course,” explained course leader and former BBC correspondent Clare Smith "It helps make sure that the students are learning from people who are out there and doing the job. "We plan to have many more prominent media figures come to address our students, and Helen is a perfect speaker to kick things off." Boaden became the BBC’s first female Head of Current Affairs in 1998, before becoming Controller of Radio 4, then BBC7. She’s been director of news since 2004. Something to add?
