Indian film production company Tulip Films is filming Mr Bhatti on Chutti (Mr Bhatti on Holiday) in the Lake District in the next few weeks.
It is the first time the production company has filmed in the North West.
“We’re delighted to be coming to Cumbria to shoot Mr Bhatti On Holiday” said the co-producer Ashwani Chopra.
“Judging by the support we’ve received so far, I am sure we’ll receive a very warm welcome when the 35 strong production team arrives in Windermere.”
Mr Bhatti On Holiday tells the tale of a group of Indian tourists who visit The Lakes, but become embroiled in the saga of a missing British woman.
The lead role of Mr Bhatti will be played by the well known Indian actor, Anupam Khe, who has starred in films such as Bend it like Beckham and Bride and Prejudice.
