Bryan Gray, the current chairman of the NWDA, has been appointed as the new chairman of Peel Media, the developers of MediaCityUK.
Bryan Gray, the current chairman of the NWDA, has been appointed as the new chairman of Peel Media, the developers of MediaCityUK.

Peel hit the headlines last week when the developer dispensed with the services of MD Brian Greasley. Gray will now play a key role in sourcing Greasley’s successor.

In a statement released by Peel today, group managing director of Peel Holdings and acting MD of Peel Media Andrew Simpson, said: “Bryan Gray already has an in-depth knowledge of MediaCityUK and we are delighted that he has agreed to be chairman of Peel Media.

“Bryan brings with him a wealth of experience in both the private and public sectors that will be invaluable as the development moves forward.”

Gray himself added: “MediaCityUK is a major transformational project for the region, which will create significant economic benefits and drive major growth in the north west’s creative and digital industries’ sector.

“I am pleased now to take up this position as chairman of Peel Media to continue to support the delivery of the project.”

Gray will continue in his role as chairman of the North West Regional Development Agency (NWDA) and join Peel Media in December.

Alongside leading the search for the new MD, Gray will be concentrating on “delivering Peel Media’s vision of making MediaCityUK the largest purpose-built media community in the UK and Europe.”
