There are red faces at Century FM and maybe time for DJ David “Ditchy” Ditchfield to grab a mug of instant coffee.

A gaffe during the Breakfast Show has given the show a bit of tabloid exposure when Ditchy managed to resurrect Avengers star and Nescafe actor Gareth Hunt.

Reading out a press release for Cilla Black’s new pantomime, Cinderella, at Liverpool’s Empire Theatre he ad-libbed that Hunt would also be appearing.

However, as any presenter knows, live ad-libs can come back to haunt you and he immediately corrected himself and apologised.

Gareth Hunt died from pancreatic cancer last year. He had appeared with Cilla Black in Liverpool in the 1980s.
