Following on from yesterday’s revelation that City Talk has signed Trisha Goddard, comes the news that the station has recruited more TV ‘faces’ in the form of Rob McLouglin (left), Simon O’Brien and Michael Brandon – better known to fans of retro TV everywhere as Dempsey from Dempsey and Makepeace.

All three are set to bolster the weekend line-up, alongside Trisha, with How-Do 100’er McLoughlin taking on Sunday morning’s show from 7 to 10am and ex-Brookside actor O’Brien hosting Saturday breakfast.

They will be joined by star of screen and stage Brandon, who has enjoyed a mini-renaissance of late due his title role in Jerry Springer The Opera, as he presents a weekly ‘showbiz’ slot on Saturdays between 7 and 8pm (did you know he actually married his co-star Makepeace, aka Glynis Barber? I didn’t – Ed).

Meanwhile, Emap has released more details about Trisha’s contribution to the station’s presenting duties after she appeared at a press conference in the city yesterday.

Goddard will host ‘Talk to Trisha’ every Sunday from 8pm to 10pm, providing a platform for debate on ‘real life’ issues that is expected to follow a similar formula to her TV outings.

In keeping with that she will also be working alongside Chris Burton, City Talk 105.9 weekend editor, whom she previously worked with on her daily Channel 5 TV show.

Goddard was also made a 08 Ambassador on her visit to the city by the Liverpool Culture Company’s marketing director, Kris Donaldson.

Other ambassadors include Cherie Booth, Ken Dodd and singer Gerry Marsden.

He's doing the Sunday political shopw and Paul Jacobs has been recruited to present Drivetime, guess it didn't go too well for Larry.
