Two years after a move was first discussed, DiA Media Group is opening an office in Manchester.
DiA, which owns The Crewing Company, The Bridge Training and Alias Hire, is setting up DiA Group North at The Triangle in Exchange Square.
It will be headed up by local businessman, Mark Brown, who runs specialist online recording equipment firm, Editors Keys.
"The need for the services that we have to offer has been growing over the past couple of years. The DiA group has been very successful in the South of England and now it’s the perfect time to help freelancers and media companies by providing the same high standards of service in the North,” said Brown.
The DiA Group is based at Olympic Park in East London and provides support services to broadcasters. It's also a member of the consortium looking to take over the Olympic broadcast and press centre after the Games.
“The Olympics is going to be great for us but we are always looking for the next opportunity and with the uptake of space at Media City in Salford increasing we saw a genuine chance to service both that development and the whole of the North West from a convenient location in the centre of Manchester," said DiA Group chief operating office David Brady.
The Crewing Company and The Bridge Training will be based in the city immediately, with Alias Hire following in the coming months.
