David Ditchfield’s (aka Ditchy’s) stay at GMG’s Real Radio has come to a speedy conclusion, as the DJ looks set to return to Manchester and take on presenting duties with Century from early May.
Ditchy Ditchy only moved from his position as drivetime presenter on Key 103 in November last year, joining Real in the same role for what he then described as “an offer I just couldn’t refuse.”However, his tenure at Real has been curtailed as he now moves back across the Pennine’s to GMG’s sister station Century as a breakfast show co-host. In the new position he will sit alongside Paul “Salty” Salt and Debbie Ousbey between 6-10am every weekday. In a statement from GMG he commented: “This a dream gig for me and I can’t wait to get stuck in. Any presenter will tell you that, despite the early starts, weekday breakfast is just the best show to be involved with. “Having worked in Manchester for five years and in Liverpool for a while, it’ll be fantastic to be chatting to listeners from both cities along with the rest of the great north west.” Prior to joining Key 103, where he presented drivetime for two years, the presenter hosted Radio Aire’s Ditchy In The Morning breakfast show for a further two years, winning a gold Sony Award in the process. He has also presented for Liverpool’s Radio City. Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
