Emap Radio is using Manchester’s Key 103 to trial what it believes is a uniquely integrated recruitment service, bringing the power of radio and online channels together in one place.
January sees the official consumer launch of www.key103jobs.co.uk, which will offer recruiters combined radio and online advertising packages.
The move has been masterminded by the firm’s digital director Jonathan Turpin, previously chief executive of of fish4, who was appointed in April last year with the specific remit of launching new radio-backed web businesses.
He commented: “Radio and online recruitment campaigns are extremely potent individually - now, by combining them and doing so at a local level, recruiters are benefiting from a highly targeted, cost effective service that totally challenges traditional recruitment advertising models.
"Key 103 is now Manchester's most listened to commercial radio station. We are using the brand as cut through to an ideal demographic for recruiters.”
Turpin added that the launch would be backed with a campaign of “high profile on-air, online and outdoor promotions” for which Emap Radio has invested a budget of £300,000 across an initial three-month period.
He also noted that a highly experienced team had been recruited to facilitate the launch, opining that the infrastructure and publicity behind Key103Jobs would “ensure rapid success.”
The ‘sell-in’ to businesses of the new model commenced in October to ensure that a significant number of jobs are online for the launch.
GMG is also in the process of establishing a cross-channel jobs portal in Manchester with its Jobsmine initiative.
