A specialist student film festival is calling for entries for this year’s event.
Abbott: Patron Exposures: New talent in moving image is a collaboration between the University of Salford, the Cornerhouse and Paul Abbott’s production company, Abbottvision.
It’s in its 16th year and takes place in Manchester in November. Last year Abbott became the festival’s patron and joins Russell T Davies and Danny Boyle in supporting the event. “Last year’s festival was a great success. It offered a host of opportunities to watch new work by talented students, and allowed them to network with influential people in the field,” said Beth Hewitt, programme leader of MA Television Documentary Production at Salford, who co-produces the festival. To be eligible for the competition you have to have made a film whilst studying at a UK educational institution. The work has to be under 30 minutes in length. The deadline for this year’s entries is 31 July, more details are available here...
