First Radio Sales’ (FRS) operation has won the contract to represent the newly launched radio station for Hull and East Yorkshire KCFM 99.8.
The station, which launched on 1 August, broadcasts to a potential audience of 500,000 people. The format is music together with local, national and international news and extensive local sports coverage.
Sam Brennan, director of sales of KCFM 99.8 said: “We’re delighted to be working with the FRS team. We believe that our station is already developing significant audiences that will be of interest to national advertisers.”
FRS’ managing director, Neil Webster, added: “We approached the KCFM 99.8 team as soon as we heard they had won this hugely important licence last year.
“We already represent 22 radio stations in the Yorkshire/Tyne Tees ITV region who reach over 1.1 million people each week. The addition of KCFM 99.8 will improve our attractiveness to national advertisers who include Ford, Vodafone, COI and Morrison’s. We’re really looking forward to working with the KCFM team.”
FRS, with offices in Manchester and London, represents 133 stations across the UK and claims an audience of around 5.1 million listeners a week.
The company recently announced it is planning to base its new media national sales operation in Manchester.
