MUTV, the subscription channel for Manchester United fans, has recorded a loss in its latest set of financial figures.
Not scoring in all divisions According to reports the operation saw turnover fall by 5.2 per cent to £4.7m, resulting in overall pre-tax losses of £1.4m. The figures were partly attributed to a fall in the number of subscribers to the channel.MUTV, which is now in its tenth year on air, has undergone significant changes of late as it sees further integration into the club itself. This was highlighted by ITV’s recent sale of its 33% stake in the business to Manchester United in a £3.3m deal. The channel is now owned entirely by the club and its partner BSKYB, employing 60 members of staff at its Manchester, Old Trafford and Carrington bases.
