The extension of Lime Picture’s Hollyoaks brand continues apace, with the news that an on-screen band from the popular youth drama is now set to impact on the real-life charts… with a little leg up from the show, of course.
Bowes: surprised The Dirty Diegos, made up of Josh Ashworth (Sonny Flood), Michaela McQueen (Hollie-Jay Bowes), Sasha Valentine (Nathalie Emmanuel) and Amy Barnes (Ashley Slanina-Davies), formed as part of a storyline on the North West based soap, but are now taking their talents off-screen.Lime executives, always ready for a new way to market the brand, apparently saw the potential in the group and set the process in motion. Bowes, lead vocalist in the DDs, explained to press: “It's really exciting and took me totally by surprise. I didn't think Hollyoaks were serious when they told me - but the next thing I know, we're shooting a video." The bands single, which is released on 24 November, is a cover of the Dimestars’ tune ‘play’. It will be promoted on the week of release with a ‘live’ performance on Hollyoaks. Something to add?
