How-DoTV will hit your (PC and mobile) screens this Wednesday – barring last minute cock-ups…

Every Wednesday for a trial six week period, we will broadcast an interview with someone who has made the How-Do news that week. This initiative is being created and produced together with the PR agency Staniforth which is as keen as How-Do to promote its growing digital and social media ambitions.

As with How-Do’s launch interview with Tony Elliott , the proprietor of Time Out magazines, the interviews will be available online and through You Tube.

If the initiative goes well, we’d hope to gradually extend the weekly broadcast so we can briefly incorporate other news and feature items in addition to the core interview.

The launch of the Weekly Wrap last summer has proved to be extremely popular with over 5,000 leading media figures across the North West now subscribing to the Friday email bulletin. We hope and believe this new initiative on a Wednesday will complement our output and provide our growing band of readers (25,500 unique visitors in March 2008) with an interesting and entertaining new platform for media and creative stories originating in the North West.

The choice of subjects for the interviews will be discussed each week with Staniforth prior to the agency sending out a team of two to conduct the interviews at the interviewee’s place of work.

The interviews will be conducted by Mark Hanson, a senior consultant at Staniforth.

Hanson has substantive broadcasting experience including a year as a presenter on a consumer TV money programme alongside Angela Rippon and Paul Lewis and he has also presented for Juice FM in Liverpool and Radio Wave in Blackpool.

Hanson added: “Staniforth recognises that the role of PR is changing as online media outlets demand multimedia content for their audiences. As broadband speeds increase, PR agencies will have a bigger role in helping to deliver this content. The partnership with How-Do demonstrates the demand for high quality video content that we hope will develop into a regular feature on the website."

We would welcome your feedback post Wednesday about the format, content and any other issues that you would care to make.
