Lime releases details of Hollyoaks and Matalan music spin-off | Print |  Email to a friend

Lime Pictures has struck a deal with retailer Matalan for a new 10-part Hollyoaks spin-off show on Channel 4.

Lime Pictures has struck a deal with retailer Matalan for a new 10-part Hollyoaks spin-off show on Channel 4.
Airing on Saturday mornings from next month, The Hollyoaks Music Show with Matalan.co.uk will feature four bands playing live on a 30 minute transmission, with further weekly broadcasts on the 4Music channel.

The show is being created by Lime's digital division Conker Media and follows on from a one-off pilot show last year.

The full commission of the concept - which includes a set from an unsigned band each week, with an online poll giving one group the chance to play their track on the main Hollyoaks show - was awarded after Lime secured Matalan as its commercial partner on the project.

In return for its investment the retailer receives title sponsorship of the series, online branding, access to the cast and bespoke digital content.

The search for unsigned acts to play on the broadcasts is now on at www.e4.com/hollyoaks

The deal was brokered by the Manchester office of media agency Feather Brooksbank.

Wow. That's the creepiest combination since Fred and Rose.

If this ends up being done right and isn't just some Miley Cyrus meets The Jonas Brothers via Steps kind of catastrophe it has the potential to be a great idea.
