Tuesday, 17 April 2007
Launching this summer, LFC TV will broadcast seven days a week with a mix of news, match action, interviews, in-depth analysis, archive matches and studio discussion.

A brand new facility is being built in Liverpool complete with a purpose-built studio plus edit suites, graphics facilities and a transmission suite. Over 20 full time technical staff will be employed at the new production centre.

The club already produces a weekly three hour TV show which is broadcast in 47 different countries outside of the UK but this new development takes LFC’s investment in broadcast media to an entirely new level.

Rick Parry, LFC chief executive, said: "We are very excited about the prospect of the Club channel which could be a great addition to the coverage that we already provide for our supporters through our website, mobile services and print media.

"We would like to be able to say more to fans at this stage as to how they will be able to get the new channel but, at the moment, discussions with broadcasters are ongoing and there are a number of details still to be worked out."

The station is currently advertising for experienced directors, producers, engineers, camera operators, editors, production assistants and researchers. “Naturally…an in-depth knowledge of football will be required for all editorial positions.”

“Applicants seeking a nine-to-five existence need not apply. The channel will be on-air seven days a week, so LFC TV team members will be willing to work unsociable hours including weekends. LFC TV will be an extremely vibrant working environment where team members will have to think on their feet, adapt and react to fast-breaking news stories and generally keep up to speed with one of the world's most famous and successful football clubs.”

Specifically the station is seeking to recruit the following technical staff:

Chief engineer, two producers, two directors, an assistant producer, two researchers, two production assistants, 3 VT editors, two graphic designers, an engineer, two technical operators and a schedule assistant.
