BBC Radio Merseyside is to co-host this year's Electric Proms with London at venues including the Philharmonic Hall, Barfly and the radio station itself.
Local acts, Wave Machines and The Maybes will appear alongside headliners, The Last Shadow Puppets, The Streets and Tony Christie, who’ll start the event from the Royal Daffodil Ferry. Confirmed artists "Hosting a dual city event is completely new to the BBC Electric Proms and will help us reach an even wider audience with an extended line-up," said festival director Lorna Clarke. Three new music shorts have also been commissioned around the festival, inspired by tracks from XX Teens and Wild Beasts. It will be broadcast on BBC Radio Merseyside and several national BBC radio stations as well as highlights on BBC Four. Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
