Mammoth move to MediaCityUK

Ealing-based design and production house Mammoth has opened its first operation outside London within The Pie Factory at MediaCityUK.

Mammoth, which launched over ten years ago, designs and produces graphics for a wide variety of broadcasters and production companies across a range of sectors and activities.

The company’s clients include the BBC, ITV, Endemol, Sunset+Vine, Talkback Thames, Channel 4 and MCFC. The company currently employs 11 staff at its Ealing base.

The arrival of Mammoth takes the total of businesses now based in The Pie Factory to 25. Other companies located there include Web Potential, TSL, Toasted Productions, Gallowglass, MK-V, Axon Birch, Purple Crew and Made in Manchester.

In response to the question of what prompted Mammoth to decide to open in Salford, Phil Long, the company’s managing director said: “It was just the whole MediaCity thing really.

“We thought about trying to service MediaCity from London but felt in the end that there is clearly a whole new and major community being built in Salford and we’d be better off by being a physical part of it.

“Plus we’ve also got other clients in the area already including Manchester City FC for whom we ran the Big Screen last year in association with Endemol Sport and we’re hopeful of having that contract renewed too. So it ultimately made sense to decide to open up North.

“We're starting with one person based in the Pie Factory for the moment but we also already have a couple of northern based freelancers to call upon.”
