Peel Media has announced this morning that Paul Clenell is to become MediaCityUK’s chief technology officer. He’s currently programme director at London’s Red Bee Media, where he was responsible for the migration of BBC, UKTV and BBC Worldwide Channels to its broadcast centre.
At the moment he’s doing a similar job for Channel 4, by transferring all of its operations from its London headquarters in Horseferry Road.
“I’m very excited at the prospect of joining Peel Media on a project which has international significance for the media industry,” said Clennell. Taking shape “I’m looking forward to working with the team at MediaCityUK to deliver a truly world class media community in which technology plays a pivotal role.” He’s worked at Red Bee since 2003 and his appointment follows that of Virgin Media’s Sinead Greenaway as chief executive office in July. She also starts in the autumn. “This is a key appointment for MediaCityUK and Paul’s vast experience at both the BBC and in the commercial sector, will be a great asset to our team,” added Bryan Gray, chairman of Peel Media. Earlier this month, Peel Media’s operations director, David Carr, resigned because he was missing London. Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
