MediaCityUK is seemingly moving its marketing up a few gears as it looks to promote its future standing as ‘the largest purpose-built media community in Europe’. On Friday the Peel Media development officially announced Code Computerlove as its new digital agency, while How-Do learned that fellow Manchester outfit Drumbeat Creative has been charged with a major design brief.
Code’s appointment was heralded with a release explaining that the team were now in the process of overhauling the MediaCityUK website and would be devising the ongoing digital strategy for the project. MediaCityUK’s head of communications Paul Newman described them as “a first class digital agency.” The firm’s introductory job has been putting up a holding page as the precursor to the new site, which will officially launch in December. MediaCityUK: profile raising Its digital strategy will be focused on providing “information on the ongoing activity around the project” which will help “attract high calibre companies from the creative, media and related industries.”How-Do understands that Drumbeat will be working towards achieving similar goals through its creative endeavours. The agency’s brief is currently under wraps, but it is believed to concern the production of marketing materials – primarily a ‘property brochure’ – to sell the project in to prospective tenants. As such it is expected to be a task of crucial importance to the mammoth project. When contacted by How-Do to confirm the exact nature of the account Drumbeat declined to comment. MediaCityUK was only slightly more forthcoming, with a spokesperson noting: “Drumbeat is one of several agencies we at MediaCityUK are working with at present.” They would not reveal details beyond that fact. www.mediacityuk.com Something to add?
