The Pie Factory, which celebrated its third birthday in January with an expansion in the availability of new space, has attracted MK-V and Web Potential to the production studio adjacent to MediaCity.
Their arrival follows those of the broadcast systems integrator TSL and Toasted Productions which have both opened offices at the Pie Factory in the past six months taking the total number of business at the Factory to over 20.
Adel Rawlinson
Adel Rawlinson of Web Potential said: “The Pie Factory has a growing reputation as an epicentre of media creativity, we welcome this move as an exciting step forward for Web Potential. The majority of the work we do is for the internet and taking into account the explosion in online video this is an area of the business we are keenly focusing upon. The Pie Factory has some real attractions for us as a company housing some of the largest green screens in the country and with the development of MediaCityUK it’s a great place for us to be! We see the move a positive one with a view to growing the business to new heights”.
MK-V makes state of the art camera stabilisation systems (steadicams) for the film and television industries internationally and Howard Smith, the founder of the company added that he is “Delighted that MK-V has found a home in the MediaCityUK site. We’re taking place along some old friends such as Take2 and 24/7 and we’re looking forward to meeting other residents”.
Formerly a food production line, the Pie Factory now accommodates three sound stages ranging from 3,000sq ft to 6,800 sq ft and incorporates a costume department, make-up rooms, dressing rooms and green rooms together with 24/7 security and parking.
