Legendary Formula One commentator, Murray Walker, will be appearing in the new series of Roary the Racing Car, which arrives on Five next month.
Murray Walker Produced by the Altrincham studios of Chapman Entertainment, he’ll appear alongside another racing great, Sir Stirling Moss, who narrates the programme.
"My friends with children, literally from all over the world, have told me how much they enjoy watching Roary the Racing Car with their youngsters, so I was delighted when I was invited to join the cast,” said Walker. “They have been enormous fun and I now feel that I have achieved fame at last by becoming part of such an outstanding entertainment!" While working in F1, he was a regular in the Colemanballs section of Private Eye with comments like: “With half the race gone, there's half the race still to go” and “....here comes Damon Hill in the Williams. This car is absolutely unique - except for the one following it, which is identical.”
Meanwhile Peter Kay, the voice of Big Chris and his mother, Big Christine, has been working hard on the new Children in Need single, also produced by Chapman Entertainment. He’s persuaded Asda to stock charity posters featuring the animated stars in a Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band style cover. “We are so pleased that this poster is being produced. Peter Kay even forgot to bring it on stage with him during his first appearance on Children in Need, but he returned later in the show and made such an impact, that we were able to secure this deal with ASDA!” said Natasha Dyson, head of licensing at Chapman Entertainment.
