Following the merger between North West Vision and Media Training North West on 1 May this year, the merged organisation has revealed its new name: NORTHWEST Vision + Media.
“We deliberated for a long time over the new company name, and consulted widely with our staff, our funders and everyone who currently uses our services” said Northwest Vision + Media chief executive Alice Morrison.
“The overwhelming message we received back was that both brands are already extremely well known and respected, and that people wanted us to maintain consistency. By choosing Northwest Vision + Media I think we’ve done that.
Morrison “As we move forward and tell the international market about our goals and aspirations, I believe the Vision + Media brand will play an increasingly significant role in the industry.”
The new organisation will focus on the audiovisual industries of the North West, the largest concentration outside the capital. Its funding comes from a variety of sources including the UK Film Council, the NWDA and EU monies.
It is based at the BBC’s Manchester broadcasting centre on Oxford Road.
Work is currently underway to produce a new website and branding for the company.
