The show’s previous highest ratings were two programmes attracting 3.5m viewers and one programme in September 2006 which attracted 3.8m viewers.

The business-reality show, which is fronted by Evan Davies, is produced out of Manchester.

Dragons’ Den was voted best TV programme in the How-Do Awards in April.

Am I the only person who thought the new series was dreadful? Given that each pitch in reality takes around 2.5 hours I would have thought a 15 minute edit would have provided slightly better viewing. Couple that with the crappy camera work - fine example of messing with something just for the sake of it in an attempt to be all modern...

Tree saved it though. Lose the Dragons and get the 'entrepreneurs' (I use the term loosely) to pitch to Tree, that's what I say.

The new series is certainly not an improvement, and the half-hearted attempts by the 'Dragons' to appear to be more competitive just does not work.

I think you'll find the lady is called Deborah Meaden...but I know what you mean. She has the look of a woman who can certainly crack the whip...don't you agree Max Mosley?

I agree with dogghouse - what's with the daft 'new' camera work? Just ruined the show. Camera moves left, left again then zooms, then right... and then there was the out-of-focus into sharp focus shot - what's that all about? Just changing a successful format for the sake of giving some 18yr old art student a job no doubt... To coin a phrase: 'if it's not broken - don't fix it' - anyone listening at the Beeb - nah, didn't think so ) :
