Industry support body Northwest Vision and Media has moved its Cheshire and Warrington Film Office into the main Visit Chester and Cheshire base, as it looks to attract more film and TV crews to the county.
The organisation has five sub-regional offices within its stomping ground, and claims that these have generated around £43m of inward investment into the regional economy over the space of the last year. Emma Welland, who runs the Cheshire office, now wants to ensure that that success continues in the county, and sees Visit Chester’s base as the ideal home for dealing with enquiries. She said: “It’s my job to let people know just what the county has to offer. There are so many hidden gems in the region that I guarantee no-one will be disappointed if they make the decision to come and film here. “That’s why I’m now working hard to get the word out that I’m here, and that I’m ready to assist with any kind of filming enquiry, from location sourcing to pinning down a particular permit or finding the perfect crew member.” Welland claims that production enquiries have risen by 30 percent since her appointment in 2006. www.visionandmedia.co.uk Something to add?
