Terence Davies’ Of Time and the City has been picked to play at both the Toronto and San Sebastian film festivals.
 Film still The film is a tribute to the director’s Liverpool birthplace and it’s already received rave reviews in Cannes - Mark Kermode said he cried at the end, although he also said he cried during Mamma Mia! It’s a coproduction between Hurricane Films, BBC Films, Northwest Vision and Media, Digital Departures and the Liverpool Culture Company. Non-festival goers will have a chance to watch the film when it opens in the UK on 31 October. bfi are the distributors. Produced by Sol Papadopoulos and Roy Boulter it is "a response to memory, reflection and the experience of losing a sense of place as skylines change and time takes its toll." Something to add?
