Broadcast hire and systems rental specialist, Presteigne, which has offices across Europe, is opening its fist regional UK base in Manchester in the autumn.
The office, which will be located at Salford Quays, will initially employ seven staff but Paul Munn, who will head up the new operation, told How-Do he anticipates adding a further 15 staff over the next two years.
Opening is scheduled for end September to early October.
Established in 1992, Presteigne’s head office is in London.
Munn
Munn said the new office intends to service a much broader area than just Manchester. He expects to be servicing clients across the north and the Manchester office will also be responsible for Scotland and Ireland.
“Presteigne has been looking at opening in Manchester for some time now” he said “And I guess it’s fair to say that the announcement by the BBC that mediacity:uk is going ahead helped accelerate our plans.”
Munn himself moved north to join Granada previously and has also worked for the BBC, Walt Disney and Buena Vista.
“What I like about Presteigne” he said is that the “company believes in investing in equipment and people; the most up-to-date and well maintained broadcast equipment, coupled with knowledgeable support staff.
“We have systems and standards in place to ensure that we maintain and deliver our equipment in optimum condition. We are proud that Presteigne is often the first to invest in the latest products and emerging technologies especially in the field of high definition.”
