BBC Radio Merseyside’s drivetime show is changing its name for an environmentally-friendly-themed week.
It will become Green For Go as of tomorrow (Friday) as presenter Claire Hamilton covers issues ranging from allotments and community composting to green schools and wind turbines.
Hamilton At the same time, the University of Liverpool will be measuring the station’s carbon footprint and looking at ways to offset it. Reporter Jimmy McCracken will be undertaking a series of environmental challenges. On day one he’ll live without gas and electricity. [no we don’t quite know how we’ll file his report without electricity either - ed]. "We asked our listeners to come up with a new name for the show that was more environmentally-friendly than 'drivetime' and had some great suggestions,” explained show producer Angela Heslop. "We chose Green For Go because it still reflects the 'on the go' nature of the show but also the environmental ethos of the week." A week on Friday there will be stalls and activities at the Merseyside studios where members of the public can find out more about going green. Something to add?
