BAFTA award-winning visual effects company Red Vision is investing £1m in technology that will enable its team in Canal Street Manchester work with C4 Studios in Toronto and Vue in Perth, WA round the clock.
The objective is that the three companies will be able to collaborate on projects once their respective working days are over.
Red Vision’s managing director Dave Mousley said that in addition to enhancing production capability, the collaboration could allow Red to take advantage of some tax and staff cost benefits, particularly relating to Australian production.
The companies are also planning to add dedicated video conferencing to further connect their operations.
Red has further offices in Bristol and London and was reportedly planning to open an office in Toronto but this new arrangement may now preclude this happening.
Red was acquired for £20m in June 2006 by Inspired Gaming Group plc (IGG). IGG bought Red primarily for its computer generated gaming expertise - a £4bn market internationally and one in which Red has a growing interest.
"We’ve got some exciting plans." said Mousley.
