Salmon becomes top earning BBC manager |

Peter Salmon, the newly installed director of BBC North will earn between £370-400k.
 Salmon It means he’s the BBC’s highest paid manager below executive board level.
The reason for it not being an exact sum is because figures were listed in brackets of £30k.Creative director Alan Yentob and Erik Huggers, the director of future media and technology are on the band below (£310-340k). Although Yentob's is pro rata.
Salary figures have been released following Freedom of Information requests, which have also led to the expenses of executives being published. Salmon is paid more than the basic salaries of chief operating officer Caroline Thompson and chief financial officer Zarin Patel. Richard Deverell (controller, BBC Children's & BBC Vision) who has been named BBC North's chief operating officer is on £220-250k. BBC 5 Live controller, Adrian van Klaveren is not among the top 50 high-earners at the BBC, so his salary has not been revealed. A full list of the Top 50 can be viewed here as a PDF.
