The Scandinavian Press Agency (SPA) based in London is opening an office in the North West to enhance its football coverage of clubs outside London and the South East.
How-Do understands the decision has not yet been made on whether the operation will have its base in Liverpool or Manchester.
SPA was established in London in 2001 to provide news for a Scandinavian audience. It originally focused on print and photo provision but is increasingly growing its output and production of digital broadcasting.
Three years ago SPA launched a daily English football web-TV-programme called ‘Kick Off’ and it is this that SPA is particularly keen to expand and develop. Trygve Sørvaag the editor of SPA told How-Do that the North West was the obvious place to open such an office.
The agency is seeking a video-journalist to open the office initially and further support and investment will occur as demand rises as SPA envisages the North West office covering stories from the Midlands to the North East.
