Distinct Voices: Diverse Lives, a project funded by North West Vision, is seeking screenwriters and film makers in East Lancs, who wish to work in film or TV.

The project, created by Liverpool film and production training company First Take, is aimed at people who are under represented in the film industry and has the support of the UK Film Council.

The project offers to train 15 writers to write a short film script and complete their own screenplay and to help 10 film makers direct a short film.

Five films will be produced and all successful participants will receive at least one film credit.

The films will be premiered in Liverpool next year and will subsequently be entered into film festivals including  Edinburgh and Cannes.

The dead line for application is 22 June.

Further information is available at www.first-take.org
