Macclesfield radio station Silk FM will need a new mantelpiece soon after winning the Radio Academy’s North West Station of the Year for the third year running.
It means they’ll be put forward for this year’s prestigious Sony Awards.
Although Silk already have one of those as well, having picked up Gold in the TSA under 300,000 category in May.
The performance of the station will be pleasing to owners The Local Radio Company PLC which has been putting a good deal of time and effort into its more high profile station, Jazz FM.LRC disposed of its 64% stake in Scottish station Central Radio earlier this year.
