Visual effects and animation company Sparkle Media has unveiled new work for a major film starring Cate Blanchett and Joseph Fiennes, while stating its intention to open an office in Australia before the end of the year.

The latest project saw the Liverpool-based firm flying its entire staff of 3D animators and compositors Down Under to shoot the title sequence for the film ‘Minutes of a Separation.’

Sparkle secured the job after working on the play of the same name for the IWC & Sydney Theatre Company, who then invited the team to cast their magic on the celluloid version.

The title sequence has since been premiered in Geneva, with a full cinematic release for the project expected within the next few months.

Blanchett, with added Sparkle
Sparkle director Glenn Maguire was quoted as saying: “The whole trip was quite an achievement for a bunch of guys and gals who started working together in a room above a pub in Liverpool only a few years ago.”

The firm also worked on a job for Reebok while in Australia and sees such an opportunity in the Antipodean marketplace that it is said to be looking to branch out with a permanent base before the end of 2008.
