The latest production to be shot at MediaCityUK studio complex The Pie Factory is set to be transmitted this Sunday at 9pm on ITV1.
Spall: big role Starring Timothy Spall and Bobby Ball, and written by Caroline Aherne and Jeff Pope, The Fattest Man in Britain does pretty much what it says on the tin. With Spall as the titular corpulent character, the 90 minute one off comedy drama focuses on this 'eighth wonder of the world' and his manager, and part time taxi driver, Morris Morrissey (Ball). Ball keeps Spall (character name George Godwin) amply fed and watered, while bringing taxi loads of tourists to gawp at his gargantuan girth. Peel Media chief executive Sinead Greenaway commented: "We are delighted that the crew decided to film here and look forward to seeing the new comedy on ITV1.” The Pie Factory was also the location for recent BBC1 production Paradox.
