University of Central Lancashire sports journalism graduate Mayur Bhanji has landed his dream job at BBC Sport reporting on the Olympics and working on Final Score.
Bhanji worked at BBC’s Asian Network while studying in Preston and in his second year he went to Spain and worked at Real Madrid TV as a pundit.
Bhanji "I got in touch with Clare Rouke, a UCLan journalism graduate who worked there as a presenter at the time and took it from there. My long term ambition is to work in football commentary. "UCLan's Sports Journalism course has given me a head start in the industry. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from people who have actually worked in the business." Considering that he’s only recently graduated, his CV already includes an interview with FIFA President Sepp Blatter in Zurich and reporting from the European Football Championships Final in Austria.
It's more good news for the journalism department which recently claimed 6 gongs at the Student Journalism Awards. Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
