A new Manchester-based arts and music festival will hit the Xfm airwaves next month, after the GCap operated stations signed a deal with brewing giant Becks.
Boon: in the driving seat The firm is (as the name suggests) the driving force behind the Becks Fusions festival, which will be held in collaboration with the Contemporary Arts Society in Castlefield Arena from 4 to 6 September.Fusion sees live art and music collaborations, DJs and a programme of short films, all appearing together in an event that will be headlined by iconic Bristol ‘trip-hoppers’ Massive Attack. For its part Xfm will be networking a live broadcast of the event across its station portfolio, hosted by the new drive time presenter of Xfm Manchester Clint Boon. Other bands set to appear include Santogold, Hercules And Love Affair and The Presets. www.xfmmanchester.co.uk
