‘The Oscar’s of the … industry’ can be a rather hackneyed way of catching the attention when it comes to awards-related PR releases, but How-do can certainly forgive Manchester’s Stardotstar for rolling out that old chestnut after hearing of the team’s latest news.
Last year's winning work
The firm, which has a payroll of only five folks, has been nominated for a total of four British Interactive Media Association (BIMA) awards, and has found itself up against competition from the BBC, MSN, Honda and Nike.
Stardotstar finds itself in such elite company due to the success of its time-travelling sheep game ‘Quantum Sheep and the Wonderful 'Wolds’ and its hearmanchester.com project - an audio tour of Manchester fronted by punk singer and music pundit John Robb.
The Quantum sheep game was designed to be played by young visitors to the Cotswolds to help them find out more about the area, while Hearmanchester.com was commissioned by Manchester City Council.
