‘Interactive designer’ Stewart Hamilton has joined digital agency Code. He was voted Freelancer of the Year in the Big Chip Awards in 2006.
Hamilton, 30, started his career in graphic design and worked with several North West agencies including the Stuart Lawrence Group, Eyedea, Fluid IT and Elevator Digital.
Since going freelance three years ago, he has worked with Code regularly and contributed to some specific Code projects including the NUS U-Disco site www.u-disco.co.uk and a Huggies movie star viral www.huggiesclub.com/uk/moviestar
Hamilton said: "Interactive design is all about creating user experiences on the web. It's the fun bit! But it's also a powerful tool to help brands enhance their interface with consumers and to encourage customers to spend more time with the brand.
"Joining Code provides an opportunity to put the latest technologies into practice for the agency’s clients.
"Technology is moving so quickly in the digital design world it's important that clients keep up. Some agencies just don't have the skill set to offer things like 3D worlds where the user is controlling the content, coupled with a strategic digital approach, but we are able to offer Code clients the complete package.
"In addition to flash applications adding fun animations and movement, they can also be an important business tool and are increasingly used to research and more serious interaction, not just games and quizzes."
Established in Manchester 1999, Code employs 46 staff.
