Baker Tilly’s corporate finance director in Manchester believes that there will be an increase in mergers and acquisitions in the North West digital sector over the next year.
Adrian Gare’s comments were made in a press release for Creative Lynx, which has just seen its turnover rise by 17%.
He advised the agency’s buy-out team last year and thinks that niche digital firms are likely to see considerable consolidation.
“Manchester’s creative agencies have been quick to adapt to digital opportunities. I suspect large and small firms will now be looking closely at their strategic options which in turn will drive renewed M&A [merger & acquisition] activity and sector consolidation over the next 12 months.
“In the case of Creative Lynx, the MBO gives greater focus to key individuals and this has helped drive the business forward during a challenging time for the sector.”
