Canterbury appoints Code for six-figure SEO push | Print |  Email to a friend

Canterbury, the New Zealand sporting brand known best for its rugby pedigree, has appointed Code Computerlove to handle its online advertising and search engine brief.

The relationship will kick off with a 12 month SEO campaign aimed at promoting the re-launch of the firm’s e-commerce site – the agency claims that this alone is worth a substantial six-figure sum – before moving onto other digital briefs for the UK online audience.

A spokesperson for the team told How-Do that the account was won without a pitch, as Canterbury approached Code on the basis of the Manchester firm’s track record with established consumer brands.

Although the business is restricted to the UK market at present, it is thought that this could be subject to change if the relationship bears significant fruit.

In other news at the agency, Online Clarity Ltd has selected Code to develop a new brand, strapline and refreshed web offering for its Online IT proposition. This will be revealed in January.

Finishing off a busy month for Code, it has also been given the tasks of creating banner ads for Key Retirement Solutions (to target the elusive ‘silver surfer’ crowds), while independent travel company Travelbeam is looking to the team to revamp its website offering and assist on email and data capture projects.
