Co-operative Financial Services is proclaiming that it is at the forefront of 'social media revolution' with recent bursts of activity taking in platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
CFS branches out
Arguably it's most high profile push to date has been the release of the below viral video - 'thank you' - to celebrate the achievement of being recognised as 'Best Financial Service Provider' by Which.
The video, released last month, was pushed out via YouTube, the firm's blog and through the Co-operative Financial Services Press Office's Twitter stream. Activity on Facebook added to the launch buzz.
As a result of the integrated approach, the video has received over 26,000 views (at the time of writing), consolidating the comms team's viewpoint that "social media has proven an invaluable new communication channel for CFS."
Duncan Bowker, PR manager for CFS, noted: “People talk, that’s a fact and we now know that the recommendation of a friend is more likely to end up in someone deciding to choose The Co-operative as their financial services producer.
"Its important to embrace the social media revolution and engage with customers in this way - we feel that it is important to allow customers to interact with us in which ever way they choose."
