Code Computerlove has been brought in to overhaul the digital marketing and online presence for The Car People, following a 3-way pitch.
The Manchester agency will build a completely new website and develop a social media strategy for the North of England motor retail group. "The motor industry as a whole has embraced the digital channel very quickly - with online sites like Autotrader.com outstripping paper based reference tools and motor manufacturers being at the forefront of digital trends. Our strategy will deliver an innovative solution for The Car People that reflects the firm's ethos and consumer needs,” explained Alex Comyn, account director at Code Computerlove. "Having previously focused on TV and press to drive footfall to its showrooms and website, The Car People has decided to shift an increased amount of budget into digital and social media in 2010 - which required a specialist agency to make this investment work for them. The new site will be unveiled within the first quarter of the year, will exciting channel marketing to follow." Code will work alongside the company’s brand agency, Propaganda and Mediavest, which handles its media buying. "We're very excited to have Code on board. They will enable us to push forward our on-line proposition both creatively and strategically. Online activity is a huge lead generator and today's web user is very demanding. With Code we know we'll be able to take the maximum advantage of the opportunity,” added Jonathan Allbones, sales & marketing director at The Car People. Something to add?
