Code Computerlove is ramping up its campaign to install a new creative director at the agency, in response to changes at the firm occasioned by its continued growth.
At the moment agency co-founder Wini Tse holds the role of creative head at the newly crowned digital agency of the year, but is shortly set to move up the ladder to overall creative partner. The reshuffle comes as Code looks to install a CD that has a broad range of agency experience - not just of the digital market - to help the agency continue its expansion and make the most of its evolving full service offering. As Tony Foggett, Code’s MD, explained to How-Do: “The agency has progressed rapidly over the past couple of years and it’d be great to get someone in that can see digital as part of the larger picture. “So, we’re not necessarily looking for a digital specialist, rather someone that understands the creative process and is aware of where digital fits into the wider marcomms context.” He continued: “The good senior creative directors out there will all have digital experience by now, at least in some form, so that should make the hunt a little easier than it might have been previously.” Foggett Foggett noted that the team was currently looking at sourcing candidates nationwide. In other news at the agency, Foggett also revealed to How-Do that Code had pitched to develop the new Get Closer social networking site for long-standing client HMV, but missed out to London-based giant LBI. This, he intimated, was in part due to a resource issue and the quick turnaround time that HMV was looking to achieve, which led the client to appoint what Foggett referred to as “probably the biggest digital agency in the country.” He noted that although the site will standalone from the main HMV portal he expected there to be considerable traffic between the two, which would benefit hmv.com’s selling proposition. “It should be really interesting,” Foggett said. “The fact that people can share their passions and find out about new music and films will drive people from Get Closer to the main HMV site, as they look to add to their collections. “Obviously, as time progresses, we’ll be looking to take advantage of that.” Foggett rejected suggestions that the new site, which is pencilled in for a September launch, and LBI’s involvement in it, would impact negatively in any way on the existing portal or Code’s position on the account. “They’re separate in that respect,” he noted. “We think it will impact positively and it’s a nice looking project, so we’re looking forward to seeing more of it.” www.codecomputerlove.co.uk www.hmv.com Something to add?
