Apparently France and Spain aren’t the only places you find the coveted black truffle, which can sell for over £1,000 a kilogram. There’s also a growing trade in the Peak District…
Mycorrhizal Systems hail from the Peaks and, thanks to mastering some high-tech scientific methods, has managed to grow the delicacies at a host of secret sites throughout the region. Rhind, truffle and Thomas Led by world-renowned expert in the truffle field, Dr Paul Thomas, the firm is looking to increase awareness of its offering and has recruited Manchester’s CTI Support Network to build a new online presence. The agency, led by founder Nick Rhind, is now redesigning Mycorrhizal’s site, supplying a content management system and implementing a search engine optimisation campaign. Rhind said of the project: “We work with big names like the NHS and Polypipe. We also work with many marketing agencies and call centres, but this is the first time we have entered the black truffle sector. “It shows that regardless of industry, all businesses can add value to their enterprise by investing in online marketing.” Dr Thomas commented: “It has just been black truffle harvesting season, so it is essential we have an effective website and online marketing campaign in place to deliver our black gold. Nick and his team are doing just that.” www.ctisn.com Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
