Happy campers Code secure Butlins appointment | Print |  Email to a friend
Tuesday, 09 September 2008
Manchester’s Code Computerlove has added to a client list that includes companies such as HMV and Cussons with a name that perhaps most people wouldn’t readily associate with the cutting edge world of digital media.

The Northern Quarter-based firm has been brought on, following a four-way pitch, by Butlins to co-ordinate ‘strategic and creative development’ across the firm’s family of websites.

Manchester’s Code Computerlove has added to a client list that includes companies such as HMV and Cussons with a name that perhaps most people wouldn’t readily associate with the cutting edge world of digital media.
Butlins' Shoreline development
What this entails is a brief to increase the number of online sales that come through the company sites, while improving user experience and driving marketing campaigns to bolster traffic and conversion rates.

The firm will work across the www.butlins.com, www.bigweekends.com and www.theshorelinehotel.com. portals, initially concentrating on the all-important 2009 first quarter booking period.

MD Tony Foggett commented: "The holiday industry is notoriously competitive and online is one of the key communication channels where companies can both develop the brand and make a direct impact on bookings.

“Butlins is one of Britain's best loved brands and it feels like a real privilege to be involved in developing their ongoing digital strategy."

Historically Butlins is seen as the forerunner and inspiration of the holiday centre/camp concept (not to mention a certain situation comedy), opening its first resort in Skegness in April 1936.

It now operates sites at Bognor Regis, Minehead and Skegness and opened the Shoreline hotel resort at Bognor Regis in 2005.

A second £20m hotel is scheduled to open at the resort in 2009.

Code itself has also seen development of late, now employing some 55 members of staff.
