By now long time How-Do’ers will be well aware of the tale of one Mr Michael Welch, the former head of the Digital Industries North West initiative.
Those of you unfamiliar with the story of one great white hope and a legal process that seems to be dragging on and on can catch a little bit of the background here. You can also read about his past court appearances here and here. What you can’t read, however, is any of the other six stories we have published about the extraordinary life of this ‘self made millionaire’, as How-Do has been requested to take them down by lawyers representing Welch’s former partner Ann Hunt (no contact from Mr/Dr Welch’s lawyers though we noted). With the court case proper starting yesterday at Warrington Crown Court it was suggested that How-Do’s past reporting could have had an influence on the partiality of the jury. (Well, we’ve always dreamed of being influential I suppose.) The case is expected to go until the end of October, at which point we’ll be able to inform you of the fate of Welch, Hunt and (perhaps) where some of the allegedly missing matters went. Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
